چکیده
This laboratory study examines the potential use of an anionic polyacrylamide (PAM)-based material as environmentally sustainable additive for stabilization expansive soil from South Australia. The experimental program consisted consistency limits, sediment volume, compaction and oedometer cyclic swell–shrink tests, performed using distilled water four different PAM-to-water solutions P D = 0.1 g/L, 0.2 0.4 g/L 0.6 mixing liquids. Overall, relative swelling shrinkage strains were found to decrease with increasing number applied cycles, ‘elastic equilibrium’ condition achieved on conclusion cycles. propensity swelling/shrinkage reduction (for any given cycle) was be in favor PAM dosage up beyond which excess molecules self-associate aggregates, thereby functioning a lubricant instead flocculant; this critical termed ‘maximum flocculation dosage’ (MFD). MFD assertion discussed validated limits volume properties, both exhibiting only marginal variations identified g/L. accumulated axial strain progressively transitioned ‘expansive’ unamended ideal ‘neutral’ state at MFD, while higher dosages demonstrated undesirable ‘contractive’ states.

Mathematical Model to Predict Swelling of Expansive Soil
ABSTRACT: In this paper, a simple mathematical model is proposed to predict the swelling behavior of an expansive soil from Saudi Arabia. The model consists of one equation with many parameters. The main advantage of this model is that only one parameter is needed to run the model. While the other model parameters can be determined using the best fitting curve technique. The testing program inc...

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Soil is naturally occurring material that is used for the construction of structures except the surface layers of pavements. Stabilization is the process of blending of different soils or mixing of additives to a soil to improve ch...

Abstraet-The limitations of existing methods for the prediction of swelling behavior of compacted softs are examined. Both the purely theoretical approach and the purely empirical approach are found to be inadequate. The present study is based on a semi-empirical approach in which a model of swelling behavior is developed leading to equations relating swelling potential or swelling pressure of ...
